As long as it is a low processed grain it is ok.
Bread must say 100% whole wheat if you are going for a wheat option. White bread is now out of your vocabulary. Try different styles of bread! Like potato
Rice is a must. Again low processed is key, so long cook rice is considered better than quick cook, but all rice is good.
Cereal. Just don't load it up on sugar. And slow oats are better than quick oats
Honey is awesome
Fats
Just... ok? Seriously your body runs on fat, fat is not terrible for you. Just know it takes less fat to fill up your calories in the day. So be smart, because if you do not eat enough fat in your diet (ie no fat at all) your brain function will decrease and you will be like a regular politician.
Spices
Go buck wild. Bland means you will get board. Dried spices are king when it comes to flavoring, so experiment with what taste is like. Salt is wonderful, so is Pepper. I can make a mean steak with three things and blow your mind with how amazing of a person my cooking skills are.
This is my buying guide. I like to spice up my pan and make it so that there are new things every week. For people who say that there is not a lot of variety when it comes to eating healthy, you just are not stepping outside of your comfort zone and trying new things. Food is one of the most basic pleasures in life so take it at not only face value, but take it at taste value. Don't think the only thing that you can eat when trying to lose weight is bland chicken, rice, and brocolli, your mind will die slowly if this happens, and it is not a pretty thing. This list is not at all comprehensive as to what you can and cannot eat, go out there, try new things, be adventurous when it comes to food. Didn't see something that you like? Send me a message and tell me what it is, how you eat it, and why you like it, because I like trying new things all the time (as long as my wallet can afford them). And just because you see something on here doesn't mean it is the healthiest in the world, it is just another option.
Also as a side note, just because it is on the list does not mean that you have to eat it. If it makes you feel miserable, don't put that in your mouth. If it bloats you, don't put it in your mouth. If it is a piece of the Old One, well we are all doomed so do what you want (but please try not to put it in your mouth).
The key to any diet is moderation, so that is what you must do with these foods, eat them in moderation, drink them in moderation, dress them in clothing and put on breakfast plays with them, in moderation. Be happy, be healthy, be intelligent about what you eat.
